Under the guidance of Major General G.M.N. Perera RWP RSP USP ndc, Quarter Master General and Colonel of the Regiment of the Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI), and Mrs. Vajira Perera, Chairperson of the SLLI Seva Vanitha Branch, a new housing project commenced on 06 July 2024.
The project provided financial support to 11 War Heroes through the SLLI Seva Vanitha Branch, with labor contributions from respective battalions. As the first stage of this initiative, the newly constructed house for Corporal D.M. Jayathilaka was inaugurated by the Commanding Officer of the 15th Battalion SLLI and a senior member of the SLLI Seva Vanitha Branch on 8 September 2024.
The ceremony was attended by Officers and Other Ranks of the 15th Battalion SLLI.
