The Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock Seva Vanitha Branch (SLACAL - SVB) conducted a donation programme on 21 July 2024 at the Kadawathmaduwa Sri Bodhirukkarama Viharaya.
Eighty-three children from low-income families studying at the Bodirukkarama Dhamma School were presented with books and materials for national attire. In addition, wall paints and all other materials required to paint the 'Darma Shalawa' were donated to the temple. The programme also featured the offering of alms to the Maha Sangha and the distribution of lunch packets along with bottles of milk to all the children. The event was sponsored by Mr. Lalith Amaranath and Mrs. N. Ileperuma.
Major General S.A. Kulatunge RWP RSP VSV USP, the Commander, Security Forces (East) and Colonel Commandant of SLACAL, and Mrs. Varuni Kulatunge, Chairperson of SLACAL – SVB, graced the event as chief guests. Senior Officers, Officers, and members of SLACAL – SVB were also present.
