Kids at Panagoda ‘Viru Kekulu’ pre-school had their Annual Sports Meet at the Sri Lanka Signal Corps grounds on 24 July 2024 under the theme “Community Helpers”.
Mrs. Janaki Liyanage, President, Army Seva Vanitha Unit (ASVU) attended the event as the Chief Guest, together with several ASVU members. The Chief Guest was warmly welcomed by the kids on her arrival at the location offering sheaf of betels.
All the kids participated in various sports activities including features, like doctor game, fire fighter, dairy farm, postman game, mechanic game, fishing game, bakers game and happy painter during the meet.
A special event was also organized for the parents of children and teachers during the sports meet. The day’s event, filled with fun and drill display, band display, added colour to the programme. The Chief Guest gave away prizes for the kids who participated in the day’s events.
Major General Y.A. B. M Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc, Deputy Commander, Security Forces-West, Mrs. Samanga Fernando, Chairperson of Sri Lanka Armoured Corps and ASVU senior member in charge, Senior ASVU members, Senior Officers, Officers, pre-school teachers, parents and kids were associated with the occasion.
