Under the guidance of Mrs. Nimali Ranathunga, Chairperson of the Commando Regiment Seva Vanitha Branch (CR-SVB), a programme was conducted for 26 elders residing at the Wilbert Perera Elders Home in Kaduwela on 14 July 2024.
During the programme, troops of the Commando Regiment along with members of CR-SVB, assisted in improving the well-being of the elders by shaving, bathing, and ensuring the cleanliness of their living quarters and surroundings. This was followed by a religious observance and a nutritious lunch for the residents. Gift parcels and essential cleaning items were also distributed.
The event was graced by the presence of Commander 1 Corps and Colonel Commandant of CR, Major General P.G.P.S Rathnayake RWP RSP ndc, Senior Officers, Officers, members of CR-SVB and Other Ranks.
