A Blood Donation Camp was held at Cheddikulam Government Hospital in Gajasinhapura under the direction of Mrs. Varuni Kulatunge, the Chairperson of Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock Seva Vanitha Branch (SLACAL-SVB) on 21 June 2024.
Lieutenant Colonel Eranda Jayawarna, Commanding Officer of 4(Volunteer) SLACAL, and his spouse Mrs. Samadara played key roles in organizing the event, which was graced by Mrs. Varuni Kulatunge President of SLACAL-SVB as the chief guest.
Dr. W.S.A Fernando and hospital staff facilitated the programme. 60 soldiers and local residents in the area volunteering to donate blood. Additionally, the President donated 100 liters of environmentally friendly disinfectants and detergents essential for hospital maintenance.
Members of SLACAL-SVB, Centre Commandant and Senior Officers actively participated in this community service initiative.
