SLACAL-SVB Supports Children of Anula Wijerama Centre with Essential Goods

Under the direction of the Chairperson of Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock - Seva Vanitha Branch (SLACAL - SVB), Mrs. Varuni Kulatunge, essential goods and sanitary items were donated to the children of Anula Wijerama Children's Development Centre in Balapitiya coinciding with Vesak festival on 25 May 2024. Moreover, tea and lunch were treated to children, and a children's movie was displayed, along with fun activities topped with a sing-along.

This event was sponsored by Ms. S Perera, Mrs. S Kolonne, Mrs. Shirani, Mrs. Dhanya Warnapura, and members of the SLACAL - SVB.

The Commander, Security Forces - East and the Colonel Commandant of the SLACAL, Major General S.A Kulatunge RWP RSP VSV USP, graced the occasion as Chief Guest.

Additionally, a shramadana campaign was also conducted by restoring buildings, repairing washrooms, repairing electrical systems and replacing ceiling fans, clearing the surrounding areas & cleaning the massive backyard on 16 and 17 May 2024. Moreover, buildings were decorated with multi-colored Vesak lanterns to give the children a Vesak atmosphere.

Senior Officers, Officers, and Other Ranks participated in the event, contributing to its success and joyous atmosphere.
