Renovation of Vijaya Vidyalaya Classrooms by 17 Engineer Services Regiment

Four classrooms at Vijaya Vidyalaya, Matale received a transformative facelift through the collaborative efforts of the Army Seva Vanitha Branch (ASVU) and the troops of the 17 Engineer Services Regiment. The project culminated in an inaugural ceremony held on 10 February 2024, graced by Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, Commander of the Army, who attended as the chief guest. Mrs. Janaki Liyanage, President, ASVU also participated in the event. Notably, Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage is an illustrious alumnus of Vijaya Vidyalaya.

Financial assistance was given by the School Old Pupils’ Association and a group of philanthropists.

At the end of the day's agenda, students were offered a delicious lunch, which was organized by the ASVU.

The Commander, Security Forces – Central, Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks, Zonal Education Director, School Principal, Vice Principal and members of the School Old Pupils’ Association participated in the event.
