Army Seva Vanitha Unit Holds Teacher Training Workshop

In line with the vision of the President, Army Seva Vanitha Unit (ASVU), Mrs. Janaki Liyanage, a comprehensive teacher training workshop was held on 09 January 2024, at the SLLI lecture hall. The program aimed to empower teachers from eight Viru Kekulu preschools located across the island, equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge to nurture young minds.

Upon arrival, Mrs. Janaki Liyanage was warmly welcomed by a preschool teacher with a traditional betel leaf offering. Accompanied by vibrant performances from Army cultural dance groups, she proceeded to the lecture hall. The workshop commenced with the lighting of the oil lamp and reciting the Sri Lanka Army Seva Vanitha song. A two-minute silence was then observed to honour the fallen heroes who valiantly sacrificed their lives for the nation's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The opening address was delivered by Ms. Kanchana Dilrukshi Kumari Weerakoon, President, the Eco - V Founding, Australia's Climate Change and the co-founder of Justice Tours and Edible Routes Foundation of India. Her insightful speech was met with appreciation, and a memento was presented as a token of gratitude for her valuable contribution.
