The Gemunu Watch Seva Vanitha Branch (GW-SVB) on account of the International Children's Day provided an array of relief items, lunch and entertainment to the children at Vivegananda School, located within the Nonpareil Estate in Balangoda on Tuesday (26 September 2023).
Mrs. Manori Welagedara, Chairperson of the Gemunu Watch Seva Vanitha Branch (GW - SVB) took the initiative in organizing this heart-warming gesture on account of the children’s day.
The GW - SVB prior to this date erected a library aimed at improving knowledge of children in the school and conducted a donation of more books to the library.
To ensure, children get the maximum out of the day, an array of games and fun-making features dominated the occasion. The winners of these games were awarded special gift parcels on the same occasion. A sumptuous lunch brought the programme to end.
Meanwhile, spectacles were also donated to two children of civil employees serving the GW. Additionally, essential school accessories were also generously provided to the children of Army families to encourage their journey of education.
