SLCMP - SVB's 22ndAnnual General Meeting Gives away More Relief to Army Families

The 22nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police Seva Vanitha Branch (SLCMP - SVB) was held on Saturday, (16 Sep) at SLCMP Regimental Headquarters with the participation of 38 members.

The AGM was presided by Mrs Priyanthika De Zoysa, SLCMP - SVB Chairperson.

The event commenced with the traditional oil lamp-lighting ceremony, followed by the singing of the Seva Vanitha song. The first session of the day's programme was dedicated to appointing new office-bearers for the upcoming year.

During the meeting, a range of important matters were taken up for review plus the proposed plan for the next year. A video documentary summarizing the community services conducted by the Seva Vanitha Branch in past years was shown at the beginning of the second session.

Following this, several hearing aids were donated to selected SLCMP soldiers' children who are suffering from hearing issues.

The donation of essential hearing aids was sponsored by the Army Seva Vanitha Unit (ASVU) under the supervision of Mrs. Janaki Liyanage, President, ASVU.

Furthermore, a donation to the value of Rs. 75,000 was granted to selected SLCMP soldiers who have children with special medical needs, under the guidance of the Chairperson of SLCMP – SVB.

The third session of the day's programme featured a lecture on "Life Management," aimed at educating the gathering on life skills and self-management. This session was conducted by Dr. Chaminda Weerasiriwardane, a professional counsellor and psychotherapist.

Members of SLCMP - SVB, senior officers, officers, and Other Ranks participated in the event.
