ASVU Monthly Meeting Held at AHQ

The monthly meeting of the Army Seva Vanitha Unit presided by Mrs Janaki Liyanage, President, Army Seva Vanitha Unit (ASVU), Chairpersons of Seva Vanitha Branches and Senior members of ASVU was held at the Army HQ on Friday (04 Aug).

At first, the President of ASVU delivered the opening remarks to the gathering. As per the agenda, the new executive committee was appointed by the members of ASVU. Moments later, Major H.S Wanniarachchi, Executive Secretary, read out the minutes of the last meeting. Major P.G.P.C Kumari, Treasurer presented the budget and accounts of the ASVU to the gathering.

Afterwards, as the special event of the day, Guest Speaker Mr Thanuja Chadrasekara conducted a valuable educative session about products manufactured by banana fibres. Soon after that, Mrs Janaki Liyanage gave away the dividends of the ‘Ranaviru’ Yoghurt Project to Mrs Thushari Wanigasekara, Chairperson, Sri Lanka Army Service Corps - Seva Vanitha Branch (SVB) and Mrs Shyamali Wijesekera, Chairperson, Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps - SVB presented a monetary donation to the ASVU for its continued welfare roles.

Towards the end, members interacted with one another during refreshments before they sat for a few group photographs prior to marking the departure.
