Aesthetic Values Appealing to Life Highlighted in ASVU-organized 'Senehase Kedella'

The Army Seva Vanitha Unit (ASVU), together with 'Derana' Media network and the Sri Lanka Army Women's Corps - Seva Vanitha Branch (SLAWC-SVB) with the intention of enlightening both lady Officers and women soldiers on the importance of aesthetic aspects of life while at work or home staged an interactive musical session, 'Senehase Kedella', led by well-known lyricist, Mr Dhammika Bandara on Friday (28) at Panagoda.

Mrs Janaki Liyanage, President, ASVU with a group of ASVU ladies graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Traditional oil-lamp lighting paved the way for Mr Gayan Sanjeewa Meegalarachchi, Marketing Manager of 'Derana' Media to address the gathering. The session was joined by over 800 lady Officers and women soldiers representing various Regiments in the Army.

The famous lyricist referring to a selected set of songs that appeal to mental balance, womanhood, balance of professional life, symbolic interpretations, articulated in songs, literary value for conduct of life, love and affection, motherhood, romance, etc explained in detail how those songs came into being and root causes that gave birth to those melodic songs.

Mrs Janaki Liyanage, appreciative of the day's contribution presented a special memento to Mr Dhammika Bandara as the programme was in progress.

Major General D.M.K.D.B Pussella RWP RSP, Commander, Security Forces - West, together with Mrs Himali Pussella, a senior ASVU member, Brigadier I.H.M.R.K Herath USP ndc psc, Director Media, Brigadier N. Mahavithana, Brigadier Coordinator to ASVU, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks also took part in the event.
