SLEME-SVU Members Attend Bodhi Pooja & Give Support to Army & Civil Staffers

Members of the Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (SLEME-SVU) Seva Vanitha Unit recently joined a special Bodhi Pooja to invoke blessings on serving and wounded SLEME Army members and transferred merits to fallen SLEME War Heroes supreme at the SLEME base workshop Katubedda.

Ven Gonadeniye Suamanrathana Thero, Chief incumbent at Akuressa - Amalagoda Gangaramaya performed the religious rites.

To coincide with this event, 25 civil staffers of the SLEME were give away 25 special dry ration packs with sponsorship, provided by Mrs Nanadani Samarakoon, Chairperson, SLEME-SVU.

Similarly, milk powder requirements for the family of a non-commissioned officer with 4 month old twins were also provided, sufficient for six months on the same occasion.

Major General Indu Samarakoon, Commander Army Logistic Command and Colonel Commandant of the SLEME, few Senior Officers, SVU members, officers and other ranks attend the day's events.
