SF - SVB Completes Partly-built Home of Late Soldier

Mrs Nayani Samanthi Senarath Yapa, Chairperson, Special Forces’ Seva Vanitha Branch, (SF-SVB) initiated a project to complete a partly-built house of a Private who accidentally passed away due to a sudden illness while following the Special Forces Basic Course at the Special Forces’ Training School at Maduruoya.

The project was conducted according to the directions of Mrs Janaki Liyanage, President, Army Seva Vanitha Unit, and Major General Sujeewa Senarath Yapa, Deputy Chief of Staff and Colonel of the Regiment, Special Forces.

The philanthropist, Mr Tiron Priyantha Mendis through the coordination of the SF-SVB provided the required monetary assistance of Rs. 550,000.00 for the completion of the house with technical and labour support of the SF members.

The completed new house was warmed and handed over to the next of kin of late SF soldier during a simple ceremony on Saturday (Jan 28) in the presence of the Chairperson, SF-SVB and Colonel of the Regiment, SF. Several Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks and relations of the soldier were present at the event.
