The Gemunu Watch Seva Vanitha Branch (GW-SVB) on account of the anniversary programmes of the GW organized a project to distribute school accessories among 20 children of selected families of GW Other Ranks and civil employees on Sunday (Mar 19) at Kuruwita GW Regimental Headquarters.
This welfare project was initiated by Mrs Shalika Edirisinghe, Chairperson, GW-SVB under the guidance of Mrs Janaki Liyanage, President, Army Seva Vanitha Unit. During the event, 16 kids about to start schooling this year and 04 children who await admission to new schools after the Grade 05 Scholarship examination results received school accessories packs each worth more than Rs. 4,000.00/= on the occasion.
The Chairperson, GW-SVB graced the event as the chief guest with senior GW-SVB members, Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks, beneficiaries and their families.
