The Gemunu Watch Seva Vanitha Branch (GW-SVB) considering the plight of a homeless infantryman of the GW built a new house for him at Diyathalawa with sponsorship provided by the philanthropist, Mr Wijerathna Bandara Ranmuthugala and his family at the request of the GW-SVB.
It was vested in the family on Friday (09 June) in a ceremony, attended by Mrs Shalika Edirisinghe, Chairperson, GW-SVB, together with the Colonel of the Regiment, GW Major General E.A.D.P Edirisinghe psc and the GW Centre Commandant, Brigadier W.B.J.K Wimalarathne RWP RSP.
1 Gemunu Watch troops erected the new house using their expertise and manpower.
Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks participated in the warming ceremony.
