Mrs Janaki Liyanage, President, Army Seva Vanitha Unit (ASVU) in order to review the progress of learning practices and administrative matters visited the ASVU-managed 'Viru Kekulu' pre-school and Day Care Center located at Pallekele on Tuesday (Feb 21) at the request of Mrs Thushara Aluwihare, senior member, ASVU.
Mrs Thushari Aluwihare and two kids learning at the preschool warmly welcomed the day’s chief guest before she discussed and guided the preschool staff for further improvements. Afterwards, the day's guest with senior members distributed fruit drink packets among the kids and joined all present for tea with the staff and guests present at the location.
The Sri Lanka Army Seva Vanitha Unit (ASVU) manages pre-schools and daycare centres island-wide for the benefit of kids in military families and non-military families.
Before her exit from the location, President, ASVU sat for a group photograph and penned down some of her thoughts in the visitors' book. Later, she visited the new building which houses the ASVU Cafeteria near the Army Base Hospital at Pallekele.
Major General Rohitha Aluwihare, General Officer Commanding, 11 Infantry Division, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks were associated with the day’s proceedings.
