With the sponsorship provided by a set of philanthropists, ladies in the Sri Lanka Engineers Seva Vanitha Branch (SLE-SVB) donated 15 dry ration packs to Buddhist temples in Matugama and Welipenna areas in coordination with the 'Saashanarakshaka Bala Mandalaya' of the Buddhist monks on 05 September 2022.
Both Major General Chandana Wijayasundara, Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Engineers and Commander, Security Forces-Jaffna Major General Mahinda Jayawardena, General Officer Commanding, 14 Division gave their support for the project. 12 Field Engineer troops organized the distribution of those relief packs.
On the same day, a wheelchair for a differently able child of a needy family who lives in Pitigala area was also donated with the support of the donors and the Seva Vanitha Branch.
The Chairperson of the SLE Seva Vanitha Branch, Mrs Mallika Wijayasundara was also associated with those donations.
