The Sri Lanka Signal Corps Seva Vanitha Branch (SLSC-SVB) on Friday (Nov 18) laid the foundation stone for construction of a new house for a soldier of the Signal family during a simple ceremony at Dalukana.
The project was initiated under the guidance of Mrs Sashika Herath, the Chairperson of SLSC-SVB, on the request made by the beneficiary who belongs to the 2 (V) SLSC and is suffering from a severe nerve damage complication in the spinal cord.
The necessary financial assistance will be provided by SLSC-SVB and well-wishers to the project while construction will be carried out under the supervision of Major K. V. A Kodikara, Commanding Officer, 2 (V) SLSC.
The simple inaugural ceremony was graced by the Chairperson of SLSC-SVB as the chief guest and senior members of SLSC-SVB, Commanding Officer, and Officers of 2 (V) SLSC, beneficiary’s family and relations.
