Newly Promoted Major General Indika Perera and Major General Dulith Perera Felicitated

Major General HAI Perera RWP RSP USP ndc and Major General LD Perera RWP RSP USP, who were promoted to the rank of Major General after rendering valuable and distinguished service to the Sri Lanka Army and the motherland, were felicitated at the Regimental Centre of the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (RC SLSR), Ambepussa, on 14 December 2025.

In accordance with military traditions, the General Staff Officer 1, RC SLSR, welcomed the two Chief Guests and invited them to review the Guard Turnout at the main entrance. Subsequently, both senior officers, accompanied by Colonel RRK Rajapaksha Udage, Overlooking Centre Commandant of RC SLSR, received the salute of the Guard of Honour. Thereafter, they were invited to plant a sapling to commemorate the significance of the occasion.

Following this, floral tributes were paid at the War Heroes’ Monument in solemn remembrance of the gallant Officers and Other Ranks of the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment who made the supreme sacrifice in defence of the motherland.

Later in the day, the two senior officers joined for All Ranks tea, during which they shared a few words of encouragement and reflections on their service with those present.

The event was further marked by a luncheon hosted in honour of the newly promoted Major General Indika Perera and Major General Dulith Perera by the Officers at the Officers’ Mess. During the occasion, two special mementos were presented to Major General HAI Perera RWP RSP USP ndc and Major General LD Perera RWP RSP USP by Major General J K R Jayakody RWP USP, Deputy Commander of Security Forces – West and Colonel of the Regiment of the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment, in recognition of their well-deserved promotion to the prestigious rank of Major General.
