The Regimental Centre, Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment commemorated fallen war heroes on the 7th and 8th November 2025, giving pride of place to the families of the fallen heroes. This commemoration was organised with the intention of not letting down the legacy which these heroes left behind and to carry forward the inheritance of the great example which they put forth by making the ultimate sacrifice in the name of their mother nation. As a grateful fraternity of soldiers, Sinha family will salute them and pledged to never forget the sacrifices they made at the highest calling of duty.
Major General JKR Jayakody RWP USP, Deputy Commander Security Forces (West) and the Colonel of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment graced the occasion together with senior officers, officers and other ranks of the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment.
During the event, floral tributes were placed at the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment War memorial and transferred merits to 144 officers and 3760 other rankers who made the supreme sacrifice while defending the country’s territorial integrity.
Subsequently, religious services representing Catholic, Hindu and Islamic faiths got underway at separate sacred places in Warakapola area and the ceremony was terminated with an overnight Pirith chanting ceremony followed by an alms giving ceremony held on the 8th Saturday morning.
