Under the supervision of Mrs. Neluka Nanayakkara, Chairperson of the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment Seva Vanitha Branch (SLSR-SVB), the Annual General Meeting was held on 18 August 2024 at the Regimental Headquarters.
The meeting featured insightful discussions on “Breast and Endometrial Cancers” by Dr. Asanka Serasinghe from Kurunegala General Hospital and “Social Etiquettes and Mess Etiquettes” by Lieutenant Colonel H.M.I.K Samaranayaka KSP, the Volunteer Coordinating Officer of SLSR. A donation of Rs. 200,000 was made to assist two soldiers to complete their partially constructed houses, and Rs. 100,000 was provided to the spouse of a soldier who is battling cancer.
Additionally, a short story written by a daughter of a retired war hero from the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment was published in 350 copies under the leadership of Mrs. Harshani Perera of Lyceum International College and donated to that child. This effort was coordinated by Mrs.Nethmini Muthumala, assistant treasure of the Sinha Seva Vanitha Branch.
The event concluded with the appointment of new key holders for SLSR-SVB and the presentation of awards.
Major General W.P.A.D.W Nanayakkara RSP VSV USP ndu, Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force and the Colonel of the Regiment of SLSR, Senior Officers, SLSR-SVB members and spouses of Other Ranks attended the event.
