PROVISION OF HOUSING ASSISTANCE UNDER THE COMMANDER OF THE ARMY “SANKALPA NIVASA” PROJECT – PHASE VIII

War hero Lance Corporal Dissanayake D.U. (S/361362) of the 4th Battalion, Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment has been awarded a housing assistance grant amounting to 1.5M under Phase VIII of the Commander of the Army “Sankalpa Nivasa” Housing Project, enabling him to receive a fully completed residential house.

The gallant soldier was medically retired after sustaining severe injuries in the line of duty, which resulted in the amputation of his left leg below the knee. His courageous service and the immense sacrifices made in safeguarding the Motherland stand as a testament to his unwavering dedication to the nation.

The symbolic handover of the newly constructed house to the war hero took place on 16 January 2026 under the patronage of the Deputy Centre Commandant of the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment, Colonel R.R.K. Rajapaksha Udage. This event marked a meaningful gesture of gratitude and respect for his invaluable service, while reaffirming the Sri Lanka Army’s enduring commitment to the welfare of its war heroes.
