Brigadier PMS Karunaratne psc assumed duties as the 27th Centre Commandant of the Regimental Centre Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment on 19 December 2025, during a ceremony held at the Regimental Centre, Ambepussa.
The new Commandant was honoured with a Guard Turnout upon his arrival and received the salute from the SLSR troops at the parade square. The charming and dignified military parade was reviewed by the newly appointed Centre Commandant, accompanied by the Parade Commander and Deputy Centre Commandant of the RC SLSR, in accordance with military traditions.
Later, he paid floral tributes to the fallen SLSR War Heroes, saluting their bravery.
The newly appointed Centre Commandant was ushered to his new office by senior officers. Afterward, amidst religious blessings, an official document was symbolically signed to mark the commencement of his new office. Then in the day’s agenda, he planted a sapling on the premises as a token of remembrance.
He then addressed the troops of the Regiment, sharing his views and intentions. To conclude the occasion, the senior officer joined an all-rank tea.
Senior Officers, Officers, and Other Ranks were present on the occasion.
