Brigadier HAI Perera RWP RSP USP ndc assumed duties as the 26th Commandant of the Regimental Centre Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment on 27 February 2025, during a ceremony held at the Regimental Centre, Ambepussa.
The new Commandant was honoured with a Guard Turnout upon his arrival and was ushered to his new office by senior officers. Afterward, amidst religious blessings, an official document was symbolically signed to mark the commencement of his new office.
Following this, he received the salute from the SLSR troops at the parade square. The charming and dignified military parade was reviewed by the newly appointed Centre Commandant, accompanied by the Parade Commander and Colonel CN Kathriarachchi RWP, Deputy Centre Commandant of the RC SLSR, in accordance with military traditions.
Later, he planted a sapling on the premises as a token of remembrance and paid floral tributes to the fallen SLSR War Heroes, saluting their bravery.
He then addressed the troops of the Regiment, sharing his views and intentions. To conclude the day’s agenda, the senior officer joined an all-rank tea.
Senior Officers, Officers, and Other Ranks were present on the occasion.
