Major General JKR Jayakody RWP USP, General Officer Commanding of 58 Infantry Division and Colonel of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) conducted an official visit to the SLSR battalions on 8 and 9 March 2025.
During the visit, Colonel of the Regiment inspected the operational readiness and administrative efficiency of the SLSR battalions, visiting the 8th Battalion SLSR in Beragala, the 2nd (V) Battalion SLSR in Kandy, and the 3rd (V) Battalion SLSR in Nuwara Eliya. The Commanding Officers of each battalion extended a warm welcome to the Colonel of the Regiment, adhering to the military traditions, and provided detailed briefings on the functioning and operational status of their respective battalions.
Meantime, Major General Rohan Jayakody briefed his vision to the Commanding Officers, officers and other troops and provided necessary instructions including training, discipline, security concerns and nations building for uplifting the battalion standards in all aspects. Furthermore, he highlighted the role of the battalions in contributing to nation-building efforts, encouraging a strong commitment to the country’s development while upholding the highest standards across all aspects of military service.
Brigadier Indika Perera, the Centre Commandant of the SLSR, along with several staff officers from the Regimental Centre, also took part in the visit.
