Major EAUS Edirisinghe USP psc, assumed duties as the 19th Commanding Officer of 8th Battalion Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment on 22 July 2025.
At the beginning of the day's agenda, the newly appointed Commanding Officer was honored with a guard turnout, ceremonial parade after which the senior officer signed the official document in his office after the religious blessings.
Following the next segment, the senior officer was invited to plant a sapling to mark the special occasion followed by a group photograph. Afterwards, the newly appointed Commanding Officer shared his thoughts and views during the troop address. The event came to the end with an all-ranks tea party.
