Further expanding the soldier welfare initiatives carried out by the Seva Vanitha Branch of the Sri Lanka National Guard Regiment under the guidance of Colonel of the Regiment SLNG, Major General JSBW Pallekumbura RWP RSP ndu psc, an outreach visit was conducted on 10 January 2026 to inquire into the well-being of the family of a fallen war hero who sacrificed his life in defence of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Sri Lanka.
The visit was made to the family of Late Corporal HM Sadhananda (S/10Q00401) of the 10th Battalion Sri Lanka National Guard, who was killed in action as a result of a terrorist attack on 25 July 1995 in the Eluvankulam area.
During the visit, a wheelchair was donated to the late war hero’s daughter, who has been suffering from a medical condition since birth. In addition, a dry ration pack was also provided to the family.
The event was attended by the President, Seva Vanitha Branch of the Sri Lanka National Guard Mrs. Kumarie Pallekumbura along with members of the Seva Vanitha Branch and several staff officers from the Regimental Headquarters.
