On 3rd of December,The President of the Seva Vanitha Branch – Sri Lanka National Guard (SVB-SLNG), Mrs Kumarie Pallekumbura together with members of the Branch, conducted a compassionate visit to extend support to civil servant Sunil Premaratne who was severely affected by the recent landslide at Riddiyagama.
Sunil Premaratne suffered the total loss of his entire house, leaving him, his wife, and child displaced and facing immense hardship. Currently, the family is temporarily accommodated at the Surakshitha Centre, Kanadeniyawa, Ikiriwatta, along with several other disaster-affected families.
During the visit, the President and members of the SLNG SVB personally inquired into the well-being, safety, and urgent needs of Sunil Premaratne and his family. Understanding the severity of their circumstances, the team donated essential urgently needed items, including supplies required for the welfare of the child, ensuring immediate relief and comfort during this challenging period.
Further extending their assistance beyond the soldier’s family, the President and members of the SLNG SVB also provided vital relief to the Surakshitha Centre. Donations included dry rations, bottled water, new clothes, and sanitary items, addressing the pressing needs of all individuals sheltered at the centre.
This heartfelt initiative by the President and members of the SVB-SLNG reaffirms their unwavering commitment to the welfare of SLNG soldiers and the broader community during times of crisis, embodying the true spirit of care, solidarity, and humanity within the Sri Lanka National Guard.
