The Sri Lanka National Guard Officers’ Training Day for the First Quarter – 2026 was successfully conducted on 11 March 2026 at the Regimental Centre, Sri Lanka National Guard with the participation of more than 100 Senior Officers and Officers.
The day’s proceedings commenced with morning physical training sessions, followed by foot drills in keeping with the professional standards of the Sri Lanka Army. As part of the professional development programme, two lectures were conducted for the participating officers.The first lecture was delivered on “Officer Career Progression,” highlighting career development opportunities, professional growth, and the importance of continuous learning for officers in the Sri Lanka Army.The second lecture was conducted on “Introduction to the Sri Lanka Army Internal Affairs Unit and Code of Conduct,” providing officers with a clear understanding of the role of the Internal Affairs Unit and emphasizing the importance of discipline, integrity, and adherence to the Army’s code of conduct.
The customary Diners’ Club event was also held in the evening with the participation of the Colonel of the Regiment as the Chief Guest. Mr. Shashi D. Jayawardena, a distinguished professional holding a Master of Business Administration (UK) and Chief Executive Officer (Central HR Solutions) and Master Trainer, attended the event as the guest speaker. During the session, he delivered an insightful lecture on leadership and professional excellence.
The Colonel of the Regiment, Council Members, Senior Officers and Officers participated in the event, making the Officers’ Training Day a successful and meaningful professional development programme.
