SLNG Bids Farewell to Outgoing Colonel of the Regiment

The Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) bade farewell to Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, Commander of the Army and Colonel of the Regiment, on 28 December 2024. The event paid a heartfelt tribute to his leadership and service during his tenure.

Upon his arrival at the SLNG Regimental Centre, Army Chief was warmly welcomed by Brigadier H.A. Keerthinatha RSP KSP psc, the Centre Commandant of SLNG. Thereafter, he was accorded a Guard Turnout by the SLNG troops, followed by a Guard of Honour.

The formalities continued with an All-Ranks Tea Session, providing an opportunity for the Outgoing Colonel of the Regiment to interact with Officers and soldiers. To commemorate the occasion, a group photograph was taken with troops of SLNG.

In his farewell address, the Outgoing Colonel of the Regiment expressed his gratitude to all SLNG members for their unwavering support and dedication throughout his tenure. He highlighted the collective achievements of the regiment and encouraged the troops to uphold their commitment to excellence.

The event concluded with the symbolic handover of duties, marking the end of his distinguished service as the Colonel of the Regiment. Senior Officers, Officers, and Other Ranks of SLNG were present to witness this significant moment and to extend their best wishes.
