SEVA VANITHA BRANCH OF SRI LANKA NATIONAL GUARD VISITS FAMILIES OF FALLEN WAR HEROES

The Seva Vanitha Branch of the Sri Lanka National Guard (SVB–SLNG), under the patronage of the Colonel of the Regiment, Major General J.S.B.W. Pallekumbura RWP RSP ndu psc, and on the instructions of the President of the Seva Vanitha Branch, Mrs. Kumarie Pallekumbura, conducted a welfare visit to the families of fallen war heroes of the Sri Lanka National Guard on 11 March 2026.

The visit was organized to inquire into the well-being of the families of soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice for the nation due to both operational and non-operational causes, and to identify any immediate needs they may have.

During the visit, members of the Seva Vanitha Branch called on several war hero families residing in the Kurunegala District. These included the families of S/2Q00776 Corporal Jayawardena K.A. (Late), S/2Q02946 Lance Corporal Sisira Kumara Ekanayake E.M.S. (Late), and S/2Q02518 Lance Corporal Priyantha S.A.P. (Late), who laid down their lives due to operational causes while serving in the 2nd Battalion Sri Lanka National Guard. The delegation also visited the family of S/2Q01137 Corporal Karunaratne H.K. (Late), who passed away due to non-operational causes.

The President of the Seva Vanitha Branch, together with several members of the branch, engaged in cordial discussions with the families, inquiring about their welfare and offering words of comfort and encouragement. As a gesture of continued support and appreciation, dry ration packs were also donated to the families during the visit.

The families warmly welcomed the President and members of the Seva Vanitha Branch and expressed their sincere gratitude for the visit and the continued concern shown towards them by the Regimental Seva Vanitha Branch of the Sri Lanka National Guard.
