The Seva Vanitha Branch of the Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) organized a welfare initiative to distribute dry ration packs and vouchers to civilian staff serving at the Regimental Centre, in appreciation of their dedicated service.
In line with a programme initiated by the Army Seva Vanitha Unit (ASVU), vouchers valued at Rs. 5,000.00 were distributed among civilian employees of the Sri Lanka Army to mark the forthcoming Sinhala and Hindu New Year. The main event was held at Army Headquarters on 09 April 2026 under the patronage of the President of the ASVU and the Commander of the Army.
In parallel with this initiative, a similar programme was conducted on the same day at the Regimental Centre of the Sri Lanka National Guard. The event was held under the patronage of the Commander, Security Forces (East) and Colonel of the Regiment, Sri Lanka National Guard, Major General J S B W Pallekumbura RWP RSP ndu psc, together with the President of the Seva Vanitha Branch - SLNG, Mrs. Kumarie Pallekumbura.
During the programme, each civilian staff member received a voucher worth Rs. 5,000.00 provided by the ASVU. In addition, under the guidance of the Colonel of the Regiment, the SLNG further extended its support by granting an additional CIB voucher valued at Rs. 5,000.00 along with a dry ration pack worth approximately Rs. 2,000.00 to each recipient.
The event was attended by the Centre Commandant, Deputy Centre Commandant, senior officers, and other ranks of the Regimental Centre. The initiative was highly appreciated by the recipients, reflecting the continued commitment of the Sri Lanka Army and Sri Lanka National Guard towards the welfare and well-being of its civilian staff.
