NEWLY APPOINTED COMMANDING OFFICER OF THE 12 SLNG ASSUMES DUTIES

Major A M S Alahakoon SLNG (O/6169), assumed duties as the 16th Commanding Officer of the 12th Battalion Sri Lanka National Guard on 08th March 2026 at the Battalion Headquarters, Thoppigala with the military formalities.

The new Commanding Officer was honoured with a Guard Turnout and warmly welcomed by all ranks of the Battalion. Subsequently, he humbly extended his utmost gratitude to all past Commanding Officers who contributed to uplifting the standards of the 12th Battalion Sri Lanka National Guard.

The day’s programme concluded with a Troop Address and an All-Ranks tea party.
