NEW YEAR GREETINGS EXTENDED TO FAMILIES OF FALLEN WAR HEROES BY SLNG SEVA VANITHA BRANCH

In line with the Sinhala and Hindu New Year, the Seva Vanitha Branch of the Sri Lanka National Guard (SVB - SLNG) organized a series of welfare visits to inquire into the well-being of families of fallen war heroes, reaffirming the Regiment’s enduring commitment to its heroes and their loved ones.

The programme was conducted under the guidance of the Commander, Security Forces (East) and Colonel of the Regiment, Sri Lanka National Guard, Major General J S B W Pallekumbura RWP RSP ndu psc, together with the President of the Seva Vanitha Branch - SLNG, Mrs. Kumarie Pallekumbura, on 12 April 2026.

As part of this initiative, welfare visits were conducted to 80 families at the unit level, during which five families of fallen war heroes from each unit were visited with the participation of Seva Vanitha members, officers, and other ranks. In parallel, the Colonel of the Regiment and the President of the SVB - SLNG personally visited five selected families residing within the Security Forces Headquarters (East) area.

During these visits, members engaged in warm and cordial interactions with the families, inquiring into their well-being while offering words of comfort, encouragement, and reassurance. To mark the festive occasion, New Year sweet packs were distributed as a gesture of appreciation and continued support.

The initiative was deeply appreciated by the families of the fallen war heroes, who expressed their sincere gratitude for the unwavering care, concern, and recognition extended to them. The visits further reflected the strong bond between the Regiment and the families of those who made the supreme sacrifice in the service of the nation.
