MAJOR GENERAL P K W W M J S B W PALLEKUMBURA RWP RSP NDU PSC ASSUMES OFFICE AS THE COLONEL OF THE REGIMENT, SLNG

Maj General P K W W M J S B W Pallekumbura RWP RSP ndu psc assumed office as the 22nd Colonel of the Regiment Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) on Monday (30), at the SLNG Regimental Center.

Upon his arrival to the premises of the Regimental Center, the new Colonel of the Regiment was accorded a Guard Turnout at the entrance of Heraliyawala camp premises and welcomed by the Centre Commandant Brigadier L W S R Wettasinghe. Later a glamorous parade was accorded for newly appointed Colonel of the Regiment and planted sapling at the premises of the same venue. Afterwards, the Colonel of the Regiment placed a floral wreath at the war hero’s monument of the SLNG and later he placed his signature to a formal document amidst religious observances to signify the assuming of the office.

Then new Colonel of the Regiment was accompanied to a tea held in his honour where he had coordial interaction with the gathering. Thereupon, Colonel of the regiment followed by a troops address at the Heraliyawala camp premises. The Centre Commandant, members of Regimental Council, Regimental staff and Commanding Officers attended the event.
