Brigadier L W S R Wettasinghe assumes office as the Centre Commandant of the Regiment, SLNG

Brigadier L W S R Wettasinghe assumed office as the 11TH Centre Commandant, Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) on Tuesday (04) at the SLNG Regimental Centre.

Upon his arrival to the premises of the Regimental Center, the new Centre Commandant was accorded a Guard Turnout at the entrance and welcomed by the Deputy Centre Commandant Colonel BRWMRAB Thoradeniya. Thereafter, the Centre Commandant placed a floral wreath at the war heroes’ monument of Sri Lanka National Guard and later he placed his signature to a formal document amidst religious observances to signify the assuming of the new office.

Later a glamorous parade was accorded at the Heraliyawala SLNG Camp premises for newly appointed Centre commandant and followed by a troops address at the same venue. Afterwards Centre Commandant planted a tree sapling at the premises of the Heraliyawala Camp. Then new centre Commandant was accompanied to a tea held in his honour where he had cordial interaction with the gathering. The Deputy Centre Commandant, Regimental Council members, Senior Officers, Commanding Officers and Regimental Staff attended to the event.
