Marks It’s 76^th Regimental Day Celebrations of Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers

Under the esteemed leadership of the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers Brigadier H D A N Hettige, a series of grand ceremonies marking the prestigious 76^th anniversary of the Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers Regiment were held at the Regimental Headquarters from 2 December 2025 to 12 December 2025.

The celebrations began with a Pirith chanting ceremony and Heel Dana to the Maha Sangha, seeking blessings from the Triple Gem for the fallen heroes who sacrificed their lives for the nation, a speedy recovery for the wounded war heroes, and well-being for all serving and retired Officers, other Ranks, civilian staff, and their families.

Additionally, on 05 December 2025 a special event organized to distribute books & scholarships to the children of soldiers’ families was conducted at the RHQ SLEME. This program was organized under the leadership of the honorable Chairperson of the SLEME Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Shyama Hettige.

As part of the regimental day events, a ceremonial parade was held to showcase the pride of the Regiment. Later, All Ranks Lunch was organized followed by Annual General meeting of SLEME Benevolent fund.
