The Director Budget and Financial Management and the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps Brigadier M K S S De Silva, made an official visit to the Trade School SLAGSC, Kuttigala, on 26 January 2026. During the visit, he also visit the detachments of the 1st Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps and the 2nd (Volunteer) Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps.
The Commandant of the Training School, Colonel J A C Padmakumara, along with all staff members, warmly welcomed the Colonel Commandant and accorded him a Guard Turnout.
Following the Guard Turnout, the Colonel Commandant auspiciously inaugurated the newly constructed office building of the 2nd Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps detachment. This was followed by the opening of the newly constructed ORs accommodation of the detachment.
Subsequently, the newly constructed Cafeteria (Harvest 7) and TV Room at the Other Ranks’ accommodation of the 1st Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps were also auspiciously opened by the Colonel Commandant.
The Centre Commandant, RHQ SLAGSC, Colonel C S Demuni, the GSO I, the Commanding Officers of 1 and 2 (V) SLAGSC Battalions and other Senior Officers participated in the event.
During the visit, the Colonel Commandant addressed the troops, planted a sapling, attend all ranks tea party and signed the Visitors’ Book to commemorate the occasion.
