On 8th November 2025, the Seva Vanitha Branch of the Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps, under the leadership of its President Mrs. Nayomani De Silva and guidance of the Colonel Commandant and Centre Commandant, carried out a temple restoration and flood relief mission in Gonawala.
The team cleaned and restored Sri Nandana Temple, which had been heavily affected by recent floods. While reviving the temple, they extended support to the local community by distributing stationery kits, snacks, and school uniforms to Dhamma school children, enabling them to resume their education with confidence.
Additionally, 100 lunch packs with water bottles and sanitary items were distributed to displaced families. Alms were also offered to the resident monks in appreciation of their continuous spiritual guidance.
