On the 21st of March 2025, an Officers Training Program took place at the RHQ SLAGSC under the guidance of the Colonel Commandant and the Centre Commandant. The day was filled with a structured agenda that focused on a variety of aspects crucial to the development of officers.
The program commenced with a vigorous Physical Training (PT) session, designed to improve the physical endurance and fitness levels of the officers. Following this, a Drill exercise was conducted to ensure the participants remained sharp on military discipline and tactical movements. After the physical activities, the attendees were treated to two insightful lectures: first lecture was about "The Chemistry Molecular Biology & Pharmacology of Methamphetamine" which discussed about "ICE" and understanding its chemical properties, effects on the human body and society. This session focus went deep into the lecture and it was conducted by Dr. Kumara Kaluaarachchi. The second lecture was delivered about military history and war literature, emphasizing the significance of knowledge and strategic thinking in shaping military leadership. This was conducted by Lt Col EAA Sujith Chaminda Edirisinghe.
The Training Day's sessions provided a valuable opportunity for officers to sharpen both their physical fitness and intellectual acumen, ensuring they remain prepared for any challenges ahead.
