Colonel Commandant Brigadier M K S S De Silva Director, Budget & Financial Management was appointed as the 19 th Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps and took over his duties with military formalities on 08 Oct 2025 at RHQ SLAGSC.
The day’s Chief Guest on his arrival at the SLAGSC premises, was warmly welcomed by the Centre Commandant, Colonel K A D C J Kodithuwakku and accorded with a Guard Turn Out. Afterwards, the Colonel Commandant laid a floral wreath at the war heroes’ monument to pay his tribute to the fallen heroes who made supreme sacrifices on behalf of the motherland. Subsequently, the Chief Guest was bestowed with a Parade.
In a harmonious blend of faiths, the Colonel Commandant took up his new responsibilities amidst a tapestry of religious observances in the presence of senior council members, officers and the staff of Regimental Headquarters.
As the next event of the day’s ceremony, Brigadier M K S S De Silva attended for a tea with all Ranks.
Finally, the Colonel Commandant addressed the Officers and Other Ranks who were present at the ceremony separately. At the occasion, he shared his views and thoughts while engaging with the gathering.
