The new Colonel Commandant of SLAGSC Makes Visit to Army Trade School at Kuttigala

Colonel Commandant, Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps (SLAGSC) and the Director General Financial Management, Major General A M K G P S K Abeysinghe, Centre Commandant, Colonel T G N De Silva and Senior Officers visited the SLAGSC Trade School, and the 1SLAGSC and 2(V) SLAGSC Detachments at Kuttigala on Tuesday (03September).

The Commandant and the staff of the school and detachments warmly welcomed the Colonel Commandant and saluted in a Guard Turnout. As a part of the visit, the Colonel Commandant was invited to plant a sapling within the camp premises, symbolizing the school's and detachment’s growth and development. Later, while addressing the troops at the conference hall, the Colonel Commandant emphasized several key factors, including the method of instruction, instructor qualities and the necessity of staying up to date with training and the development of agricultural activities etc.

Subsequently, the school's Commandant, Colonel U A KaluaraschchiUSP presented aextensive briefing on the various roles, responsibilities, training programmes and courses offered at the Trade School as well as administration matters allowing the Colonel Commandant to gain a deeper understanding of the school's operations and its contribution to the development of skilled professionals. Additionaly, the Officer Commanding1SLAGSCand 2(V)SLAGSC briefed on their respective Detachments.

Afterwards, the Colonel Commandant inspected the camp compoundand several key places at the school and the Detachments, inquiring after the welfare of the troops. He also instructed the responsible Officers on maintaining the camp and expanding infrastructure facilities in the future.

To commemorate this special occasion, a photograph was taken with the Colonel Commandant alongside the entire staff of the Trade School. The visit was concluded with an all rank tea party, fostering a sense of camaraderie and unity among the attendees.
