ASVU Assists Ditwa Cyclone-Affected Communities in Badulla and Kandy

An essential items donation programme was successfully conducted on 13 and 14 December 2025 to support communities affected by the Ditwa Cyclone in Badulla and Kandy areas. The programme was carried out under the guidance and supervision of Mrs. Swendrini Dissanayake, the President of the Army Seva Vanitha Unit (ASVU).

The relief assistance comprised dry ration packs, bottled drinking water, baby sanitary items, clothing, pillows and mattresses. These essential supplies were generously donated by the Lions Club of Modara and Mattakkuliya to the ASVU.

The distribution of relief items was carried out with the coordination of Security Forces (Central) and 111 Infantry Brigade, ensuring timely and effective assistance to affected residents in the areas of Gampola, Kuruduwaththa, Girawulla, Ambalanpitiya and Pahala Gampaya.
