ASVU Conducts Monthly Meeting

The monthly meeting of the Army Seva Vanitha Unit (ASVU) was held on 12 December 2025 at the Army Headquarters.

Mrs. Swendrini Dissanayake, President of ASVU graced the event as the Chief Guest. Chairpersons of the Seva Vanitha Branches representing all regiments participated in the meeting.

The proceedings commenced with the singing of the Seva Vanitha song, followed by a two minutes silence in remembrance of fallen war heroes. Thereafter, a short documentary highlighting the welfare and other activities of ASVU and Regimental Seva Vanitha Branches was screened. Then, the President addressed the gathering and appointed the following senior members to vacant positions of the Executive Committee in accordance with the ASVU constitution.

Subsequently, the Secretary of ASVU, Mrs. Darshani Yahampath, presented the minutes of the previous meeting, while the Treasurer, Major A.S.N. Hathurusinghe presented the audit report.

Thereafter, the President provided guidance on the effective management of newly introduced welfare programmes and the continuation of annual welfare projects for the benefit of war heroes. She also proposed the provision of loans amounting to Rs. 500,000.00 for each ASVU branch representing all regiments, explaining the repayment procedures. The proposal was approved and incorporated into the ASVU constitution.

The meeting concluded with the singing of the National Anthem, followed by tea reception and a group photograph.
