Under the guidance of Mrs. Ayesha Liyanage, Chairperson of the Sri Lanka Signal Corps Seva Vanitha Branch (SLSC – SVB), the branch extended financial assistance to both soldiers and civilian employees facing pressing personal and family challenges.
A sum of 100,000.00 was provided to a civilian waiter of SLSC to facilitate household electrification, ensuring a safe and reliable electricity supply for his family. Meanwhile, a soldier caring for both parents, his mother battling cancer and his father paralysed, received 50,000.00 in support.
In addition, an NCO was granted 25,000.00 to assist with ongoing medical expenses for his 4 years old child, who requires treatment for a kidney condition. A civilian employee was also supported with 153,000.00 to purchase a hearing aid, improving daily functioning and communication.
Furthermore, the branch extended assistance to a civilian waiter whose daughter, undergoing cancer treatment while preparing for her Advanced Level examination, faced financial hardship. Responding to this need, a group of former students of Musaeus College, Colombo contributed towards the student’s educational expenses.
