Under the guidance of Mrs Swendrini Dissanayake, President of the Army Seva Vanitha Unit (ASVU), a donation programme was conducted on 04 June 2025 at the ASVU office with the aim of enhancing educational opportunities for children of war heroes.
Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, Commander of the Army, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The initiative was made possible through the generous sponsorship provided by Mrs. Subashini Weerasinghe.
During the event, six tablets were donated to children of Army personnel who excelled in the 2024 G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination in the Mathematics and Science streams. Additionally, a laptop was donated to the daughter of a retired, disabled war hero, currently pursuing her studies at the Faculty of Medicine.
