ASVU Donates Orthotic Equipment to NCO’s Child in Need

The Army Seva Vanitha Unit (ASVU), under the guidance of Mrs Swendrini Dissanayake, the President of ASVU, donated a Hip-Knee-Ankle-Foot Orthosis (HKAFO) to the three years old son of a Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO) of the 5 (V) Gajaba Regiment on 09 May 2025 at the unit premises.

The child was born with a medical condition where the spinal nerves were improperly aligned, necessitating orthotic support for improved mobility and posture. The HKAFO, produced by the Army Prosthetics and Orthotics Workshop in Ragama, was provided in response to a request made by the father.

Senior Officers, senior ASVU members, Officers, Other Ranks participated in the event.
