The Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police (SLCMP), in collaboration with the SLCMP Seva Vanitha Branch, celebrated the Sinhala and Tamil New Year on 6 April 2025 at the Sri Lanka Signal Corps Playground, Panagoda.
Major General U.L.J.S Perera RSP USP nps psc, the Military Secretary of the Sri Lanka Army and Colonel Commandant of the SLCMP, along with Mrs. Iresha Perera, the Chairperson of the SLCMP-SVB, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
The event included a variety of fun-filled games, including 26 events such as bun-eating, pillow fights, the selection of the New Year Prince and Princess, eye-placing on the elephant, lime and spoon race, tug-of-war, fancy dress competitions and more.
Towards the end of the event, the Colonel Commandant and other invitees presented gifts to the winners of the various competitions. The day concluded with a live music performance.
Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks and their family members participated in the event.
