Under the guidance of Mrs. Apsara Peiris, Chairperson of the Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers-Seva Vanitha Branch (SLEME-SVB), a series of welfare programmes were organised on 30th January 2025 at SLEME Headquarters, Katubedda.
In line with the programme, a Bodhi Pooja Pinkama was conducted by Venerable Padalangala Dhammadeva Thero to invoke blessings for the families of fallen, disabled, and serving war heroes. A counselling session on Ranaviru Birinda (War Hero’s Wife), was conducted by Lieutenant Colonel Sujith Chaminda Edirisinghe, Editor of Ranaviruwa magazine.
Additionally, 20 dry ration parcels worth Rs. 7,000.00 each were distributed among war heroes and civil employees, while all war heroes’ spouses received special gifts from the Chairperson.
Members of SLEME-SVB, Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks, spouses, and civil workers participated in the event.
